I was charging my BMW iX today and noticed a water leak that created a small puddle underneath the car. It seemed to come from the middle section, and now I’m wondering if this is something normal or if it’s something I should get checked out.

Has anyone else experienced this while charging? Could it just be condensation from the cooling system or something more serious? The car is otherwise running perfectly fine, but I don’t want to overlook a potential issue. Would appreciate any insights or advice from fellow iX owners.

I’d check the puddle closely. If it’s clear and odorless, it’s probably just water from condensation, which happens when the car’s cooling system is active during charging. If there’s any color (green, orange, etc.) or a chemical smell, it might be a coolant leak, and you’ll want to get that looked at right away.

Usually, this happens on hot days after the AC has been running for a while. Considering it is almost winter, I guess it must be a different thing.
