Right now, I'm feeling a lot of frustration. My brand-new 2023 IX40 had a serious problem just 25 days after I purchased it. It’s giving a DriveTrain error that went from yellow to red.

I was stranded and had to fix the short-term problem by following forum advice. The dealership's initial response was subpar, and I'm concerned about the possible root cause.

Has anyone else had comparable problems with their new IX40? Was I just unlucky, or is this a typical issue with this model?

it's definitely worth getting it checked out by a professional. Don't ignore it, especially for safety reasons. It's concerning that they seemed to rush you out the door. Maybe they were swamped or didn't know how to handle it? Either way, it's not a good look. I'd suggest booking an appointment with a different service center if possible, just to get a second opinion.

Hang in there! new cars sometimes have growing pains, and it sounds like you got hit with one. The drivetrain system is complex, but the error might just be a bad sensor or calibration issue. If the dealer isn’t being proactive, maybe try another one for a second opinion.
