question about NFC card

question.. how do you use the NFC card for your iX? Does it work with Apple CarPlay and phone calls? I'm not sure why you'd use the NFC card instead of the key.

So the NFC Card, fobs, and Phone as Key? Yeah, they all do the same thing - unlock and get you into your BMW. The only difference? That NFC Card? It isn’t tied straight to your main BMW ID. But once you pair it up through the iDrive menu, it’s basically just another key, smooth and easy to use.

The NFC card is a backup for unlocking/starting the iX, handy if you forget the key or your phone dies. It doesn't affect Apple CarPlay or phone calls.

I prefer using the key fob. It's always been reliable for me.
